The rapid development and widespread application of the technologies of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the educational sphere have dramatically shifted the process of teaching, learning, evaluation, and management in a particular institution. Although AI provides a lot of potential in the context of personalised learning, efficiency in administration, and creating a solution based on data, it also gives rise to very important ethical issues regarding data privacy, algorithmic bias, transparency and accountability. Lack of holistic governance systems as well as policy frameworks in most academic institutions has only amplified the necessity of responsible and ethical AI integration. This paper will discuss the significance of ethical governance in the application of AI in learning settings and structural policy frameworks capable of informing responsible AI use in institutions of learning. In qualitative research, the researchers review and analyse literature systematically and gather material on AI governance standards established internationally and institutional policy documents regarding AI in education. The results indicate that although AI technologies are gradually becoming embedded in the educational systems, most institutions do not have explicit ethical policies, governance, and control rules to address the risks posed by the deployment of AI technologies. The article determines the main components of the ethical governance requirements such as transparency, fairness, accountability, data protection, and inclusive decision-making as elements of responsible AI integration. In addition, the results suggest an essential importance of educational leadership in the creation of institutional policies, the introduction of the ethical frameworks of control, and the spread of responsible AI practises awareness among the professorate and administration. The paper suggests a policy-based framework that would aid in governing ethical AI by institutional regulation as well as by engaging the stakeholders and through the mechanism of constant monitoring. The findings of this study underline the fact that educational leaders and policymakers should develop an all-encompassing approach to governance that would guarantee fair, ethical, and open implementation of AI, which will in turn help to protect academic integrity, as well as to sustain digital revolution in post-secondary education.
